Rode kool met appeltjes en rozijnen

Today I made this vegetable side dish for some guests who asked for the recipe, and therefor you get to enjoy it too. The recipe that is.


  • 1 red cabbage
  • 2 apples
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of powdered cloves
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • handful of sultanas


  1. Cut the red cabbage into narrow strips.

  2. Peel and core the apples and cut into cubes.

  3. Place all ingredients in a pan with some boiling water. The water does not need to cover the cabbage, but there should be enough for the pan not to boil dry.

  4. Simmer for about 20 minutes.

  5. Drain and serve.
